The Reykjavik Staunton Chess Series can commonly be called the Bobby Fischer or Jacob Knight Series. The term Reykjavik series often takes after this particular name due to the infamous chess tournament held in 1972 Iceland. This tournament was held between 2 chess masters in Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky, the former of course came out victorious in this final championship. Indeed now all of these Staunton chess pieces are reproductions of the design. These chess pieces are manufactured by highly skilled artisans based in Amritsar India, Each piece is carefully carved and crafted by these skilled artisans from solid blocks of wood, not to forget each piece is heavily weighted to provide a comfortable and stable game chess. All pieces are layered with a soft green felt to prevent any damages to your chess board
