The Reykjavik Staunton Chess Series can commonly be called the Bobby Fischer or Jacob Knight Series. The term Reykjavik series often takes after this particular name due to the infamous chess tournament held in 1972 Iceland. This tournament was held between 2 chess masters in Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky, the former of course came our victorious in this final championship. These chess pieces are manufactured by highly skilled artisans based in Amritsar India, Each piece is carefully carved and crafted by these skilled artisans from solid blocks of wood, not to forget each piece is heavily weighted to provide a comfortable and stable game chess. All pieces are layered with a soft green felt to prevent any damages to your chess board.
A fine wooden chess board veneered with inlaid squares. The darker squares made from Walnut and lighter squares constructed from Maple. This would make a wonderful Chess Board for your Chess Pieces. A very high quality board made in Spain that can provide many years of use.
We also include a wonderfully veneered chess piece storage box, made from walnut wood. The storage box is large and compatible enough to store pieces as small as 3 Inch to as large as 4 Inch. The storage box is also padded and coated in black velvet felt to prevent any damage to your chess pieces.
